I painted this from one of those photographs that were taken from an airplane flying over a particular farm and offered for sale to the owners. More than just a specific family's farm, this stands for all the small farms that once provided a good livelihood to the families who lived on them. As corporate farms take over, and gobble up the dairy market, the small farms are becoming fewer and fewer. This painting stands for everything that used to be important in this country.
